    HBO aired a documentary Sunday night called “Going Clear”. It’s about Scientology and includes personal accounts from people who were within the organization anywhere from 10 to 35 years—some of those interviewed were former high-ranking officials. While it doesn’t delve as deeply as the book of the same name, it does touch upon some of the horrors Scientology inflicts upon its members.

    If you’re interested, the book (Going Clear) is by Lawrence Wright and is by no means an easy read—both emotionally and viscerally—but it does go into great detail about how the religion started, how the Scientology church treats its people, how they were declared a religion, etc.
